Lila Knosby

Lila May Hornung Knosby, age 89 passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Mesa, AZ. She was born on August 23, 1932, in Hubbard, IA to William and Marie (Sharpshair) Hornung.

Lila was a loving wife and devoted mother. She married Joseph V. Knosby on October 31, 1953 in Iowa Falls, IA and a year later moved with her husband and their young son to Cumming, IA where they had two more daughters. They farmed and raised their family there for close to four decades. In 1996, Lila, Joseph, and their son Joe relocated to Idabel, OK (where they live to this day) to farm and make a unique life for themselves.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters; Jerry, Wilma, and Margaret.

Lila is survived by her husband, Joseph, of 69 years; her son, Joseph M. Knosby; daughters; Carol (David Hanf) Knosby Hanf, and Susan Knosby; grandson, Shawn Hanf: brother; William (Karolyn) Hornung; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St Frances de Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery. 

A visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at White Family Funeral Home Chapel.
