Lois M (Bates) Friend

Lois Friend, age 76 passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at her home in the Moon Community, OK. She was born on March 17, 1948 in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Amos and Jennie Bates. Lois married AD Friend in Idabel, OK on October 22, 1969.

Lois was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and helping her husband in the log woods. She was an avid reader and a talented artist. Lois was a devout Christian and a member of the Bokhoma Baptist Church. She was a lifetime resident of the Moon area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Jennifer Friend in 1993.

Lois leaves behind her beloved tree farm; her husband of 55 years, AD Friend of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Olive Bates along with their sons, Justin and Ryan all of Gilmer, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the funeral home.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Tom Cemetery with Calvin Friend officiating.
