Lorene (Sanford) Helms

Lorene Sanford Helms, age 98 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Broken Bow, OK. She was born on December 30, 1922 in Idabel, Oklahoma, to John B. and Viola Sanford.

Lorene graduated from Shannon Business School in Richmond, CA. She worked for several large companies as an executive secretary. She retired from Weyerhaeuser Company in 1979, to travel with her husband, Lloyd B. Helms. Lorene was of the Methodist Faith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John O. Sanford; and a niece, Jayne Sanford.

Lorene is survived by her husband, Lloyd Helms of the home; nieces; Reba Schafer of Lincoln, Nebraska and Johnna Whitfield of Morehead City, North Carolina; a special cousin, Gladys Sparkman, of Broken Bow, OK; many other relatives and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at  10:00 am on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at  the Denison Cemetery with Bro. Russell McDaniel officiating.
