Alice Louise Holly Ray was born on June 16, 1937 in Red Oak, Oklahoma. She went to meet the Lord on December 10, 2025 in Claremore, Oklahoma.
She attended all 12 grades of school at Red Oak. During her school years she enjoyed music and playing basketball. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1955.
She started her college education at Eastern Oklahoma A & M College in Wilburton where she met Blue Ray. They were married on July 20, 1957 in Idabel and were married for 57 years.
She continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and graduated in 1964 and began her teaching career. Louise taught at Eagletown, Temple, Haworth and Idabel. Over her 42 year teaching career, she received many awards and plaques including “Teacher of the Year”.
Louise and Blue were involved in many of the school’s activities and were sponsors on many of the kids trips for band, sports, and other groups. She enjoyed taking pictures on these trips and made many scrapbooks of the memories.
Music was a big part of her life. She enjoyed singing and she played several instruments including the piano and organ.
Louise enjoyed raising flowers, doing crafts, going camping and fishing, helping her husband take care of their farm animals, especially their horses.
She attended both the Baptist and Penecostal Church at different times in her life.
Louise often said she had led a long and fulfilling life.
Louise is survived by two brothers, Charles and Pam Holly of Red Oak, OK and Bob and Kim Holly of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Wilma Hilburn of Red Oak and Doris Wagnon of Pryor, Oklahoma, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and other relatives and many friends.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband Blue Ray, her parents Luther and Alice Holly, brothers Ed Holly and Ray Holly, and sister Francine Rozell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the White Family Chapel with Charles Watkins and Johnny Montgomery officiating. Interment to follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
