Luther Kupke, age 94, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born on November 22, 1926 in Haworth, OK, the son of Otto and Vera Kupke. Luther married Anna Jean Voyles on March 29, 1950 in DeQueen, AR and his beloved wife preceded him in death, seven years to the day.
Luther was a pipline engineer and enjoyed sharing pipeline stories. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. Luther also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.
Luther was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idabel. An ordained Deacon and active in the Nailbenders Ministry in which he helped to build Churches.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna Jean Kupke; a son-in-law, Randall Watkins.
Luther is survived by; his children, Bobbi Ray and Cathy Kupke of Jacksonville, TX, James and Denise Heathman of Idabel, OK and Valerie Watkins of Idabel, OK; siblings, Fred Kupke of Torrance, CA and Bitsy Kupke of Haworth, OK; grandchildren, Michael and Angelia Mason, Joshua and Krystal Kupke, David Kupke, Amanda Kupke, Rebecca Heathman, Daniel and Sylvia Watkins and Lucas Eli Watkins; great-grandchildren, Ian, Heather, Justin, Lee, Lilly, Dani, Skyler, Grayson and Beckett; his caregivers, Nikki Coursey and Ashley Calhoun; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. Joe Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
