Marie Cowell 95, of Idabel, Ok entered her heavenly home on April 29, 2026 at Paris Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Marie is the daughter of the late George Washington and Zadie (Simmons) Sharp. Marie was born on January 15, 1931 in Garvin, Ok. Marie married the love of her life, Alvie Lee Cowell on June 26, 1948 in Arkansas.
Marie loved her family dearly. Marie loved gardening, canning, sewing, quilting and making hand made quilts for her family, bailing and raking hay with Alvie and most of all camping and fishing with her family. Marie loved her lord and savior Jesus Christ and was looking forward to her home in heaven and reuniting with her husband Alvie.
Marie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brother Claud Sharp, sisters Nona Cowell, Cassie Sharp and Louise Coppock. Sister in Laws Lomas Williamson, Juanita Edwards, Bessie Cowell and Beverly Cowell. Brother in laws Kenneth Cowell, Bow Wesley and Dean Cowell. Son in Laws Charles Bolz and Kirby Byassee. Grandson in law Chris Snowden.
Marie is survived by her two daughters Phyllis Bolz and Sharon Byassee. Grandchildren: April and JJ Monk, Taylor Willingham, Michelle (Bolz) Snowden, Kim and Jermaine Russell. Great Grandchildren: Jaylyn Monk, Ryan and Becky Orr, Jaiden and Kymari Russell. Great great grandchildren: CJ and Liam. Sister: Georgia Young. Brother and sister in laws: Marie Sharp, Curtis and Pat Cowell. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives as well as her special caregiver Debbie Rutledge, whom the family appreciates very much for everything she done.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Meeting Place in Millerton, OK. Interment will follow at Wheelock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the funeral home.
