Mark Allen McGovern

Mark Allen McGovern, age 58 passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his home in Redland Community, OK. He was born May 19, 1964 in Crossett, AR, the son of Clovis and Marilyn McGovern.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding around in the woods.  He loved his family and many friends and spending time with them. Mark was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and was affiliated with the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Marilyn McGovern; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Wilma McGovern and his maternal grandparents, Howard and Eunice Scroggins.

Mark leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty VanHoose McGovern of the home; stepsons, Dwayne Stanart of Yukon, OK, Ray Stanart of Yukon, OK, Luther Stanart of Idabel, OK; stepdaughter, Sharon Walls of Broken Bow, OK; sisters, Julie and Michael Birdsong of Idabel, OK; Carla Daniels of Tishomingo, OK; nephews, A.J. Birdsong and Jack Birdsong; several friends; Todd Finley, Stephen Womack, Tommy Carver, Chris Sullens, Larry Owens; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at White Family Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the funeral home.
