Mary Zilpha (Wright) Cox

Mary Zilpha Cox, age 83, of the Union Grove Community, OK  passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Idabel. Mary was born to Bob and Odessa Wright on January 17, 1940 in Haworth, OK.

Mary was a homemaker. She was very dedicated to her family and she loved doing things for them, whether it be cooking for them or just spending time with them. Mary enjoyed taking care of her flowers and was avid collector of antiques. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Haworth Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Odessa Wright; husband, Leo Cox; son-in-law, Ricky Long; and her brother, Robert Wright.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Pamela Cox of the Union Grove Community, OK; a daughter, Donna Long of Negley, TX; grandchildren, Jimmy and Jerri Calvert, Billy Jr and Kimberly Cox, Racy and Lisa Long, Chase and Andrea' Long, Craig and Misty Cox and Mark and Cassandra Cox; great-grandchildren, Harlee Long, Haylei Cox, Hunter Cox, Kynli Long, Leo Calvert, Ella Calvert, Landon Cox, Hannah Cox and Brooklyn Cox; a special friend, Waurine George of Haworth, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2023 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Aubrey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Haworth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the funeral home.
