Monnie Leon Dodd

Monnie Dodd, age 62 passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Denison, TX. He was born January 10, 1960 in Fresno, CA. Monnie graduated from Midwest City High School in 1978. 

Monnie's family moved to Garvin, OK in 1979 and he left home at the age of 19. He worked in Radio his whole life and started his career as a teenager at KBEL in Idabel, OK. Monnie spent most of his time in Eldorado, AR as the radio personality Dan Murphy. Monnie attended the Garvin Baptist Church and had moved back to Garvin, OK 4 years ago.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Leon Dodd.

Monnie is survived by his daughter, Sarah Dodd of Doyline, LA; mother, Dorothy Chapman of Garvin, OK; brothers, Mark Dodd and Paula of Garvin, OK, Donnie Dodd of Garvin, OK, Maury Dodd and Susan of Branson, MO and John Chapman and Angel of Millerton, OK; a sister, Gail Dodd of Idabel, OK; grandson, Kylan Chevalier of Doyline, LA; sons, Christopher Dodd of Bentonville, AR and Matthew Dodd of OKC, OK; former step-father, Johnny Chapman of Valliant, OK; and step-sisters, Renea and Michelle; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Garvin Cemetery in Garvin, OK.
