Morris Edward Murray, age 79 lifetime resident of Garvin, OK passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Paris, TX. He was born on July 20, 1942 in Lamar County Texas, the son of Jim and Eunice Murray.
Morris was a mechanic and owned and operated Murray's Transmission Service in Idabel for several years. Prior to opening his own shop he worked at Buck Williams Garage for many years. Morris was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Morris loved his family and family gatherings. He enjoyed spending time with and making memories with his loving grandchildren and family. Morris was a Christian and affiliated with the Pentecostal Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Murray; a sister, Shirley Murray Smith; and a son-in-law, Charles Matlock.
Morris leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jim Murray and Dollie of Garvin, OK; daughters, Karen Hudgins and Gerald of Midwest City, OK, Sharen Matlock of Garvin, OK and Cynthia Daniels of Garvin, OK; sisters, Ruth Haynes and Betty Brown and David all of Texarkana, TX; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the White Family Chapel with Sis. Reva Schaeffer officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
