On December 29, 1943 Nellie Sue was born to Susie and Albert Brakebill in the Shults Community. She was the tenth and last to enter this family, she was also the last to exit on Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Idabel, OK.
Nellie leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Mark Sorrells and his wife, Joey Beth and her daughter, Jovell Setzer and her husband, Keith; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Karstin, Dakota; and Chasadi; six great-grandchildren, Reece, River, Rane, Colson, Raeya, Sheila; who brought great joy and love to her later years; her sister-in-law, Sarah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold; five brothers, Lloyd, George, Lewis, Billie Joe and Wilburn; two sisters, Betty and Dora; sister-in-law, Loretta; her best friends, Jean and Emma.
Nellie graduated from Gray High School in 1962, met Harold that same year and they were married shortly thereafter. Nellie worked as a sales clerk in various places in Idabel. Her first job was at Warren’s Five and Dime store and the last was at Sherman’s Shoe Store in 2015. She enjoyed working in the public and meeting people. She never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would talk to her.
Nellie loved gardening, going to plant nurseries with her girls; shopping, decorating and researching her ancestry. She was a Christian and knew and loved her Lord and read His word daily. As a young girl, she attended church with her parents and she and Harold with their two children also attended church.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Denison Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Jeter.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the funeral home.
