Norman “Bud” Williamson passed on June 29, 2025 in McAlester, OK. He was born to Fred and Mellie Williamson on September 7, 1940 in Pine Valley, OK. He wed the love of his life, Jimmie Cogburn (Noel) and they shared 49 years together.
Bud served in the Army reserves, and took honor in doing so. He spent his working years as an electrician, handyman, and working tin the hayfields. Bud also spent his life ranching, a passion that spanned decades. He enjoyed being a prankster and always kept everyone on their toes. He enjoyed riling up the grandkids and pestering Jimmie. He could often be found siting on the porch chewing tobacco and whittling wood. He spent a good amount of time caring for and talking to his cats. He had a notorious sweet tooth, with a great affinity for chocolate ice cream and cookies. He was a member of Wright City First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a long-standing member of the American Legion, where he took great pride doing electrical work around the rodeo grounds and always loved attending the rodeo.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Joe DeWitt, and two step-sons, Vick and Harold Cogburn.
Bud is survived by step-son, Randy Cogburn and wife, Kathy and family, grandchildren, Larry Cogburn and wife, Dana, Tammy Burnette, Chad Cogburn and wife, Julie, Todd Cogburn and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, Carolyn and Dewey Powers, Larry and Terry DeWitt, David and Janell DeWitt, Doris and Wade Snow, Charlie and Wendy DeWitt, Jerry and Michelle DeWitt, John DeWitt and Janie and Casey Morris.
