Pauline Taylor 86 of Tom, Oklahoma passed away in Tyler, Texas on Sunday June 2, 2024. Pauline was born on March 6, 1938 in Eagletown, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim B. and Katie Hadley Johnson, brothers J.B. Johnson and Billy Wayne Johnson former(s) husband, father of her children, Barney Ward, Jr. and Richard Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Joe Salinas of the home, sister Jane Dingess of Idabel, Oklahoma, her children, Cheryl Harris (Harmey Randolph) of Hamilton, Texas, Dennis Ward (Leshia) of Tom, Oklahoma, Kathy Welsh (Randy) of Lindale, Texas, Lori Horn (Scott) of Yukon, Oklahoma, Phillip Salinas (Wendy) DeKalb, Texas, Marcy (Trini) Quiroz, Mace (Amber) Hendersonville, TN, Mickey (Ashely) Harrah, Oklahoma 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and special friend, Janet Long of Haworth, Oklahoma.
Pauline was a member of the Tom Baptist Church. She attended school in Eagletown and graduated from Tom High School. She was well known for a variety of skills and hobbies. Her yard always looked like the cover of Southern Living magazine. She was a natural horticulturist. Her canning skills were always highlighted at the McCurtain County fair, always earning the highest accolades. Pauline learned her cattle knowledge from her father and made her living as a cattle woman and was known for her grit and tenacity in the ranching business.
Pauline was an avid outdoors person and hunter. She loved sharing her hunting stories with friends and family. She hunted up until her last years. She was a fabulous cook having raised a large family working on the ranch/farm always feeding large groups of people.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Tom Baptist Church in Tom, Oklahoma with Jerry Galloway. Family will receive visitors at White Funeral Home on June 7th between 6:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Tom Cemetery.
