Pearlie Mae (Kenneybrew) Green was born on June 10, 1930, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Roy Lee and Nealie (Richardson) Kenneybrew. She was the second of nine children, having seven brothers and one sister. Following the passing of her mother, Nealie Kenneybrew, her father later married Johnnie B. (Washington) Kenneybrew, and one son was born to that union.
Pearlie Mae attended and graduated from Dunbar High School in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Following graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where she worked as a culinary cook. While living there, she received the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing, which left behind four younger siblings. Without hesitation, and guided by love and responsibility, she returned to Broken Bow to care for them as her own. She later met and married James Allen “Speedy” Green, and together they raised five daughters.
At an early age, Pearlie Mae accepted Christ and became an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Broken Bow, where she faithfully served as church clerk and teacher. She later joined Macedonia Baptist Church of Broken Bow and eventually united with First Baptist Church Westside of Idabel, where she was the oldest member and Mother of the church and she remained a faithful member until her passing.
Pearlie Mae was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She found great joy in cooking and lovingly prepared Thanksgiving meals each year for her siblings and children. She was especially known for her chicken and dressing, sweet potato pies, and her famous ice potato cake. Pearlie had a fond love for Dr. Pepper, often stating it was her strength—a sentiment her doctor good-naturedly embraced. She also enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren and spending time playing bingo at the Senior Citizen Center.
Pearlie Mae peacefully departed this life on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her five devoted daughters.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Allen “Speedy” Green; her parents, Roy Lee and Nealie Kenneybrew; her brothers Roy Lee Jr., Carl, William, Theodis, John Roy Kenneybrew, and Q.T. Washington; sisters Wilma Jean Smith, Barbara Peters, and Emma L. Watson; brother-in-love Johnny Smith; sisters-in-love JoAnn Kenneybrew and Janice Kenneybrew; her son-in-love Jesse L. Coyle; and her great-grandson, Ke’Sean Hankins.

(Kevin) Stinson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Augustine Coyle of Yukon, Oklahoma; Brenda L. Green of Idabel, Oklahoma; and Natasha L. (Bill) Schneider of Idabel, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brothers, Rev.
