Peggy (McDaniel) Hammonds

Peggy Hammonds, age 60 passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Plano, TX. She was born March 22, 1964 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of FM and Mary McDanial. She married William “Brittle” Hammonds in DeQueen, AR on July 14, 1989.

Peggy was an accomplished homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed swimming and was a talented artist who liked to paint. Peggy loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Church of God faith and was a lifetime resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Hollingsworth; sister, Melissa McDaniel; granddaughter, Jodie Butler and grandson, Jack Hammonds.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, William “Brittle”Hammonds of Idabel, OK; sons, William Hammond and Allison of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Shasta Thomas and Casey of Garvin, OK, Samantha Parker of Idabel, OK, Christeena Butler of New Boston, TX; brothers, Billy Shane McDaniel of Wright City, OK; sisters, Vonda Cupit and Orville of Rufe, OK, Deanna Conterez of McAlester, OK, Janice McDaniel of Wright City, OK, Judy Blair of Wright City, OK, Debbie Colson and Jerry of North Pole Community, OK; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Green  Chapel Assembly of God Church with Bro. Lynn Gaskey officiating. Interment will follow at Redland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the funeral home.
