Ray Dean Armstrong, age 79 passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at his home in Millerton. He was born on June 11, 1944, the son of Foy and Emogene Armstrong.
“Ray Dean was a fix it man! Lazy was not a word to speak in his vocabulary. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, be it carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing or most importantly being a friend – he mastered the task.
Back in the old days he visited the local café on a daily basis. He always shared words of wisdom, no matter the topic of conversation. As family and friends gather, it is clear the impact he had on the lives of others” (as described by Alicia Manning).
Ray Dean owned and operated Shirley’s Laundry and serviced vending machines with several small business in the area. He was known in the community as a hardworking man who could be depended on to help in any situation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Foy and Emogene Armstrong.
Ray Dean is survived by his wife, Shirley Armstrong of Millerton, OK; sons, Charles Dean Armstrong and Misty of Talequah, OK, James Christopher and Paula of Dierks, AR, Raymond Christopher and Amanda of Millerton, OK; brothers, Red Armstrong of Millerton, OK, Rusty Armstrong of Holly Creek Community, OK; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Meeting Place in Millerton, OK.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the funeral home.
