Robert "Bob" Lundy Obituary

Robert "Bob" Lundy, age 87 passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on January 30, 1933 in Perry, FL, the son of Leon Palmer Lundy and Dora Mae Brown Lundy. Bob married his wife Marie on August 30, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL.

Bob was a veteran of the US Air Force. He moved to Idabel in 1971 to work for the Valliant Paper Mill. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after over a 35 year career as  a paper maker. In retirement he worked several years for James Hodge Ford driving vehicles and night security. 

Bob was a devout Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. He was a longtime member of the Grace Assembly Church where he served as a board member. Bob was also a member of the McCurtain County Camp of the Gideons for many years. He also enjoyed working in the McCurtain County Jail Ministry.

An avid outdoorsman he loved to camp and fish. In his younger years he enjoyed riding dirt bikes. Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to greet you with an encouraging word.   

He was preceded in death by parents; a daughter, Donna Reeves; a brother, Dallas Lundy; and also an infant brother.
 
Bob is survived by his wife, Marie Lundy of the home; his daughters, Lisa Lundy of Battiest, OK, Terri Mosier and Mandy Brown both of Idabel, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A private service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Grace Assembly Church in Idabel, OK with Bro. Elwayne Schaeffer and Bro. Kyle Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
