Rogers Gary

Rogers Gary, age 80 of Ft. Smith, AR passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in Fort Smith. He was born on January 22, 1942 in Burkeville, TX, the son of CB and Katie (Rogers) Gary. He married Maggie Fennel in Burkeville, TX on February 12, 1966.

He worked forty years at Weyerheauser Wright City sawmill in shipping and the 409 planer. Rogers loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader who also enjoyed watching TV.

Rogers served in the United States Army stateside during the Vietnam Era. He lived in McCurtain County most of his life, moving to Ft. Smith in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents; CB and Katie Gary; great-granddaughter, Everi Brannan; sister, Sylvia Mason; and brother, Elray Gary.

Rogers is survived by his daughters, Rogena Brown and Michael of Ft. Smith, AR and Dana Bray Smith of Bogata, TX; grandchildren, Kyle Skelton and Melissa of Ft. Smith, AR, Jesse Whisenhunt of Lipsic, OH, Denea Archer and Justin of Claremont, NC, Kara Smith of Bogata, TX and Taneesha Smith of Pattonville, TX; 8 great-grandchildren and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Ringold Cemetery with Jimmy Smalling officiating.
