Ronnie Bates

Rev. Ronnie Bates, age 68, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025. He was born on March 9, 1957 in Lubbock, TX, the son of Clarence and Josie (Wright) Bates. 

Ronnie was an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God. He pastored the Faith Assembly of God Church of Idabel for many years.  He enjoyed reading the Bible and preaching the gospel. He had a great love for Christ and the sharing of his love.

Ronnie cherished the time he spent traveling on vacation with his family and making unforgettable memories. Known as an all-around good guy, Ronnie’s positive outlook on life left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Samuel Wayne Bates; grandparents, Clarence and Fannie Bates, Carson and Julia Wright; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Joe and Olive Bates of Portland, OR; daughters, Jenny Rouse and fiancé, Mike Lucido of Van Couver, WA, Jessica and Travis Pharr of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Mike and Debbie Bates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Paul and Tammy Bates of Nocona, Texas; grandchildren, Devin, Isaac, Wyatt and one grandchild on the way; sisters, Linda and Lester Clowers of Idabel, OK, Glenda Bates of Idabel, OK; sister-in-law, Joy Bates; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and church members.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Faith Assembly of God Church in Idabel, OK with Bro. Jerry Wilkerson Officiating assisted by Bro. Mike Bates and Bro. Lester Clowers. Interment will follow at Redland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the funeral home with Bro. Jerry Wilkerson officiating, assisted by Bro. Mike Bates and Bro. Lester Clowers. Interment to follow at Redland Cemetery.
