Ronnie Brown Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Brown, age 70 passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on September 3, 1955, in Dania, FL the son of Albert and Virginia (Jones) Brown.

Ronnie moved from Florida to the close-knit community of McCurtain County in 1971. He embraced his new home and quickly became an important part of the local population. He attended the Church of God and made many friendships over the years.

Ronnie worked for over sixteen years at McCurtain Auto Supply, where he became an important part of his colleagues’ lives and customers alike. With a warm smile and a knack for storytelling, he brought humor into daily life often leaving everyone in stitches with his nonprofessional stand-up routines. Ronnie enjoyed a good woodworking project. He also relished the challenge of fixing family and friend’s cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eric Brown, grandson, Maveric Brown; sisters, Linda Cody, Brenda Reid; brother, Larry Brown.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Retha Brown of the home; sons, Sam Moore and Chelsea of Sapulpa, OK, Jim Berryhill and Raylene of Jenks, OK; daughters, Melinda Brown of Idabel, OK, Wanda Jobe and Justin of Whitesboro, TX, Crystal Howard and Dennis of Whitesboro, TX, Jessica Hutchins of Idabel, OK, Tanya Fritts and Heath of Sapulpa, OK; twenty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held from 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Idabel Church of God with Bro. Wayne Freeman officiating.
