Ross Dugan, Jr. Obituary

Ross Frank (Buddy) Dugan, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the age of 97 in Idabel, OK.

He is survived by his brother, Don Dugan and his wife, Peggy, who lovingly cared for Buddy for the past 13 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ross Frank Dugan, Sr. and Mary Yauger Dugan, his two sisters, Mary Ann Dugan Norwood and Helen Dugan Springer. Ross had many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all who treasured him dearly.

Ross graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1949 with a BA in Architecture. He then served in the United States Air Force as an officer from 1950-1953. In 1954, Ross earned his Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. He practiced architecture at Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill for 25 years in San Francisco, CA. He lived in Novato, CA for many years and so enjoyed the beautiful weather in Marin County. His home was full of his collection of artwork including many pieces by his close friend and Idabel native, Harold Stevenson. For many years, Ross was an avid runner participating in many races and marathons. Ross was also a voracious reader and in the past few years enjoyed listening to many, many interesting books. He was an excellent Conversationalist and had a remarkable memory. We will all miss him very much and are grateful to all who have helped care for him.

No services will be held per his request.
