Ruth Sands
Obituary
Ruth Carole Sands, age 82 of Honobia, OK passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Paris, TX. She was born on February 4, 1940 in Idabel, OK, the daughter of George and Faye Taylor Beeman.
Ruth was one of the founders of the Honobia Bigfoot Festival and Conference and was adamant about attending yearly. She enjoyed watching the birds play in her large wisteria bush in her yard, but most of all she loved reading.
She was a Baptist by faith and a lifetime resident of the area. Ruth loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Sands; and her son, Dan Sands.
Ruth is survived by her son, Dean Sands and Sheri of New Boston, TX; daughter, Jolly Winsor and Calvin of Honobia, Ok; grandchildren, Jacob Sands and Shauna, Zac Sands, Becca Mae Sands; great-grandchildren, Jordeyn, Riley, Douglas, Jase and Zoe; sister, Nita Kelly and Charles; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Honobia Bigfoot Organization (honobiabigfoot.com).
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life and spreading her ashes at a later date.
