Sammy Sipes

Sammy Sipes was born on March 12, 1954 and went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2023. Sammy was known by many and loved by many many more. Few people could hear the name Sammy Sipes and not know him in some way or form.

Sammy believed a man was only as good as his word and he lived his life accordingly. He was many things to many people.

Sammy was a quiet man, a logger, a fisherman, an avid camper, a jokester, a friend, a brother, a father, and a husband. Above all Sammy was a man who loved the Lord and loved his wife.

Sammy married Polly and embraced fatherhood of three little girls., Evelyn, Melissa, and Maria. Years later and with a lot of love in between they had a son, James. He then adopted his brother Clint and Kyle along the way.

Sammy had no quit and he expected the same from those around him. He gave as good as he got and in the process, gained the respect and love of any who came into his life.

Sammy lived a full and happy life and will be missed by too many to count, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew him best: his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.

Sammy is proceeded in death by his parents N.E. and Ruby Sipes and a sister, Pam Sipes.

He is survived by his wife of the home Polly Sipes; daughters, Evelyn Meddock of Idabel, OK, Melissa Baxter of Garvin, OK and Maria and Pacer Landreth of Garvin, OK; son, James Sipes and Kimberley Sexton of Idabel, OK; adopted son, Kyle Owens of Tom, OK; brother, Clint England of Haworth, OK whom he helped raise from a young age; grandsons, Clay Baxter, Jake Baxter and Trey Meddock; granddaughters, Mari and Hannah Landreth; brothers, Terry Sipes of Little Elm, TX, Billy Sipes of Little Elm, TX, Timmy Sipes of Odessa, TX, Jimmy Sipes of Idabel, OK and Dennis and Mary Sipes of Antlers, OK; sisters, Vicki and Mike Joiner of Idabel, OK, Anita Cairns and spouse of Odessa, TX, Jan Sipes of Idabel, OK and Sue and Jim Laney of Garland, TX; brothers-in-law, Ricky and Bonita England, Clint England and Sharon Johnson, Joe Bill and Darlene England; sisters-in-law, Marie England, Vada Green and Joyce Wade; several nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Haworth Assembly Church with Bro. Robert Dodds and Pastor Mark Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at the Haworth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the funeral home.
