Sarah Lynne (Buzbee) Kilgore

Sarah Lynne Kilgore, age 92, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Idabel. Sarah was born to Jesse and Myrtle Buzbee on April 6, 1931 in Idabel. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and graduated from Idabel Gray High School. Sarah was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idabel.

She had a great love for her family and enjoyed cooking for all the holiday gatherings. Sarah cherished time spent vacationing with family at the beach in the Carolina’s. An avid horseracing fan, she studied genealogy and volunteered at Idabel Public Library helping others with their genealogy..

Sarah worked at three utility companies, Southwestern Bell, Oklahoma Natural Gas, and most recently the Idabel Water Department where she retired as office manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William R. Kilgore Sr., son Rick Stephens, and infant son, Robert Keith; brothers, Rex, Rush, Jesse, James, Jack, Banks, and Carl Buzbee; sisters, Claire Smith and Mary Benson.

Sarah is survived by daughters, Cathy McCoy and husband, Tyson of Sanford, NC, Terri Houston and husband, Kevin of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Heather McCoy Wicker and husband David, Tyson McCoy Jr., and Jody Trim  great- grandchildren, Harley and Jackson Wicker, Ryder and Rikki McCoy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Idabel, OK with Rev Mark Jardine officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Idabel  First United Methodist Church.
