Sherrill "Slack" Ray Tonihka

Sherrill Ray "Slack:" Tonihka, age 62 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Paris, TX.. He was born January 31, 1963 in Idabel, the son of Wilson Amos Tonihka and Bertha Mae Ward Tonihka. Sherrill married his wife Dora on January 20 2021 at DeQueen, Ar

Sherrill worked in the oil fields as at truck driver. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing pool. Sherrill loved his family and the memories he made spending time with them. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert Earl Tonihka, Alan Eugene Tonihka and Wilbur Tonihka. 

Sherrill is survived by his wife, Dora of the home; a daughter, Bridget Whittaker and Scott of Waldron, AR; a son, Elton Walker and Adrianna of Quincy, IL; brother, William Tonihka and Betty of Idabel, OK; sister Elizabeth Ann McKinney of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Baylee, Novalee, Bentlee, Henley, Olivia, Autumn and another to be born any day; nieces, Ashley Summers and David, Alicia Tonihka and Jennifer McGinnis; many other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at  the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Heath Bundy and Bro Philip Snow officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
