At the age of 103, Sid Hunnicutt, heard the words "Well Done " on April 17, 2021.
Sid was born on July 13, 1917, in Idabel, OK to his parents, Gip and Gennie (Williams) Hunnicutt. He attended school up until the time he had to start working to help support his family. Sid married the love of his life on June 4, 1938, in Corona, CA, where he had moved to work in the orchards. He served his country during WWII as an infantry soldier in the Philippines. After working a while hauling cattle and molasses, Sid and his family moved back to the county. It was in Pollard where he began farming, and grew crops that people came from all over to get, until he was no longer able to work.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 81 years, Dorothy Mae Hunnicutt; parents, Gip and Gennie Hunnicutt; one son, Richard Dale Hunnicutt; five brothers, Robert, Bernard, Gip, Millard, and Charlie; three sisters, Johnnie Maie, Ethel, and Lela Graves; two grandchildren, Ricky Hunnicutt and Michael Hunnicutt.
Sid leaves to continue his legacy, one son, Harvey Hunnicutt and his wife, Sandie, of California; one daughter, Dorothy Cash and her husband, Jimmie, of the Pollard Community; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 26, 2021 at the White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, OK with Bro. Aubrey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery.
