Sylvia Louise (Rankins) Cotton

Sylvia Louise Cotton, age 88 longtime Wright City, OK resident passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in Broken Bow, OK. She was born on March 20, 1934 in Chickasha, OK, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Scott) Rankins.

Sylvia worked in the Wright City School Cafeteria for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed canning, quilting and gardening. Sylvia liked to hunt and also cook the fish her family caught on the river. She was a longtime member of the Wright City First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, helped put plays on, took kids to Church Camp and anything else she could do to help.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles E. Cotton; son, Charles L. Cotton; brothers, Eugene Rankins, Clyde Rankins, Eldon Rankins, Robert Rankins, Edmond Rankins, Blondie Rankins and James Rankins; sisters, Virgie Rankins and Lorena Lawrence.
 
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Mitchell Cotton and Valerie of Coyle, OK, David Cotton of Wright City, OK; daughters, Mary Mahon and Dale of Valliant, OK and Vicki Migliaccio and Dr. John of Idabel, OK; brother, Raymond Rankins and Kay of Broken Bow, OK; sisters; Doris Roberts and William of Wright City, OK and Yvonne Tidmore and Amon of Swink, OK; grandchildren, Eric Cotton, Ashley Delorme, Rebecca Carper, Kristie Cotton, Charlena Kennedy, Heather Cotton, Shawn Campbell, Jessica Evans and Sarah Flowers; several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Wright City, OK with Bro. Aaron Strange and Bro. Jerry Speck officiating. Interment will follow at the Glover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the funeral home..
