Terry loved McCurtain County where he chose to take a chance in Idabel, in 1988, as the Manager of Sharpe’s Department Store. He loved his customers whom held a dear place in his heart. One of his greatest joys was serving his community and those who came from afar just to shop with him.
Terry met Evone, the love of his life, at Sharpe’s, in 1989. Together, Terry and Evone had a blended family; each having one girl and one boy. On March 31, 2012, Terry and Evone were wed in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after the two had weathered many storms together.
One of Terry’s great joys was a week-long vacation on an Oklahoma lake with Evone, his kids, sister, brother-in-law, brother, nephews, bonus kids, and many of the kid’s friends. He absolutely loved to pull the kids behind the boat for some rough water skiing, tubing and knee boarding. He had a laugh that was unmistakably all his own. Terry had many great travels including his trips to visit his son, daughter-in-law and grandkids while they lived a traveling military life and his travels to California to visit his bonus son, bonus daughter-in-law, and bonus grandkids where he and Evone last visited in June. Terry also found great joy in simply driving Evone around to go site-seeing in the local communities that he was so proud of. Terry cherished his family whom he would do anything for.
Terry loved to bring joy to others but he was not a fan of anyone making a big deal of him. He loved to feed people, to entertain, and he always made sure his girls got a stuffed animal, flowers, balloons, a cake and a card for their birthday, along with his precious deliveries for other special occasions. His mother, Mamie, raised a man like no other.
Terry was a man whose handshake everyone knew they could trust. He filled big shoes throughout his lifetime within his family as well as his beloved local communities.
