Virginia Franklin, age 83 passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at her home in Bokoshe, OK. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Tobias and Rosa Tushka Williston.
Virginia enjoyed quilting, going for car rides and eating ice cream. She was very close to her sisters and had their own table at the church known as the sister's table. Virginia was a longtime faithful member of the Bokchito Methodist Church and cared deeply for her church family and enjoyed worshipping with them. She loved her family and cherished time spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Franklin; daughters, Nawatha Baker and Connie Franklin; grandsons, Kevin Raymond and Gabriel Tonihka; granddaughter, Rendi Franklin, brothers, Silas Williston, John Williston, Angus Williston, Kenneth Williston, Ben Williston, LeRoy Williston, William Williston and James Williston; sisters, Aline Johnson and Estherline Anderson.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Ben Franklin, Jr. of Eufala, OK, Brian Franklin of Broken Bow, OK and Edmond Brent Franklin of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Marietha Bond and Larry of Bethel, OK, Valeria Franklin of Battiest, OK, Thelma Kaniatobe and Rick of Golden, OK, Wahneeta Ferguson and Richard of Bokoshe, OK, Tracie Willis of Bethel, OK, Inese Mitchell and Shawn of Garvin, OK, Neomi Franklin of Bokoshe, OK and Rowena Franklin of Bethel, OK; son-in-law, Billy Baker of Broken Bow, OK; sisters, Effielene Harley, Stella Williston and Martha Williston all of Idabel, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Bokchito Methodist Church in Idabel, OK with Edgel Samuels, Osborn Roberts, Tommy Wesley and Richard Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at the Canfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
