Willie Bastible

Willie Ray “Dub” Bastible, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home in Garvin, OK. He was born on September 19, 1935 in Garvin, OK, the son of Nease and Willie Coffman Bastible.

Dub was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Brown and Root until his retirement. He was a US Marine and a veteran of the Korean War. A 32nd degree Mason and lifetime member of the Valliant Masonic Lodge. Dub was a member of the Valliant Church of God and was raised and lived in the Garvin area most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Nease and Willie Bastible; a daughter, Terry Sharp; a grandson, Alex Smith; brothers, Ed Bastible and Preacher Bastible; a sister, Mattie Mooney; a granddaughter-in-law, Sonya Freeman and one grandson-in-law, Mark Hefti. 

Dub is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary Bastible of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Terri Bastible of Garvin, OK; daughters and sons-in-law, Jayne and Gary Walkup of Garvin, OK, Janet Smith of Garvin, OK and LuAnna and Nyles Strickland of Garvin, OK; brother, R. D. Bastible; grandchildren, Brian Freeman, Jessi Sharp, Stormy Walkup, Stephanie Walkup, Trey Bastible, Natalie Hefti, Asia Strickland, Christy Smith and Desmond Hatcher; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Valliant Church of God in Valliant, OK with Bro. Leon Timms officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the funeral home.
